Fiction – Catalyst: Part Three

The Lucid Files

Mr. Deity

The old, weathered man shot out of his chair to watch what was going to unfold. He was undecided if he was ready to take it to this level, and at the same time, he wanted it to. Was this not the reason he created the two worlds? God and Satan were on his desk, each of them in their safe havens, loathing each all the while.

The hatred they have for each other runs deep and is as old as time itself. Save for what the bible tells us about these spirits, little is know about them. What would they really do if they were to meet? Hash it out? Shakes hands? Make love? The bible only explains they are enemies, and Lucifer a fallen angel.

Their worlds have been designed now, and the contrast was prominent, he saw, standing over Adam’s glass sphere. Lucifer wanted his world dark, but Mr. Deity saw clearly into it as if he stood next to the demon.

“BITCH!” Lucifer bellowed. The debris in front of him was completely doused with water from the sky, falling like a comet. His skin sizzled and burned from the water. Lucifer was finding new things about himself frequently; liquid burned his skin. One thing was certain, however; he wasn’t going to take this shit from God!

In a rage, Lucifer flapped his enormous, dragon-like wings. He burst into the sky with great speed and hovered. Below him the many piles of burning debris and rubble grew intensely, illuminating everything around them as the sky grew darker from the smoke.

Mr. Deity watched, still standing above the glass sphere sitting on his desk. A moment longer and he will stop this charade. But he noticed Eve in the second ball. She was at ease and yet greatly amused at this point. The liquid she sent to his world was a smart idea and did the trick. Now she resorted to taking a nap. God, as she called herself, has created an exotic world full of trees, birds and fish. If there were elves lurking in the trees eating raspberries, it wouldn’t come as a shock. Now God was lying on a large body of water, enjoying the weightlessness.

Lucifer saw with satisfaction as objects began to unearth themselves from the black, sooty dirt. The fires were raging and hot. His whole world was nothing but fire. The objects suddenly cried out in pain. They were demons, with small horns and wings. Cries pierced the sky all around him as he hovered in the air, his massive wings beating steady and cutting the sky with loud thumps. Whoosh. Whoosh.Yes, yes, that’s it. Come alive, demons. Lucifer has work to do.

In the second sphere, God sat up abruptly in the water. Fish under her dispersed and hid. They were just swimming around aimlessly, and every so often would nibble at her buttocks. She felt something was happening. Evil was growing.

Eve stood up and walked to the edge of the water. She raised her arms, and suddenly, in the middle of the vast, clear ocean, it began to bubble. It looked as if it was boiling. It was gurgling and tiny whirlpools can be seen here and there. From the depths, a white castle slowly and thunderously rose. It was an enormous fortress. Salt water cascaded from its walls and balconies. Huge, white pillars stood at its entrance. On both sides of the castle were two huge empty platforms. They were taller than the most of the castle, albeit the steeple in the center, and on the top a cross that pierced the sky.

From behind her, two large snow-white falcons soared past her, landing with ease on the platforms with a final beat from thier wings. They were enormous! Their yellow eyes blinked and examined everything around them in frightening detail. They shrieked with delight, chattering with each other.

Lucifer concentrated. Out of nowhere, a pitchfork appeared in his hand. This pitchfork had three prongs, the center longer than the others. The tips were sharp and sides razor sharp. It felt good and heavy in his hands.

He lowered himself to the ground, and tapped the earth once with his new weapon. Suddenly, the earth shook and opened up. His world was rumbling and moving. The piles of flaming debris fell, and crumbled apart, puking more into the air. The demons jumped back, looking inside the dark fissures and canyons. Fire erupted from them, billowing smoke.

“Come and get me now, bitch!” Lucifer roared.

Mr. Deity sat back down into his chair. Leaving the two worlds sitting on his desk. He opened the first drawer and pulled out a folder and opened it up. From his breast pocket, he pulled out a pen and began to write on a piece of parchment..
