I doubt this will matter to
wingnuts and reality deniers, people who are desperate to profit off the rapidly shrinking anti-gay dollars. They’re vested in a view that we’re sick and evil, though there’s not rational basis that underscores just how normal our friends, lovers and families are.
David Boies, lead counsel on the Prop 8 trila,
noted that it’s easy for those motivated by animus to make all sorts of outlandish claims on TV or in a public forum, disparaging and denigrating us based by playing to stereotypes and common fears in forums devoid of any depth or discernment.
Would that all of these folks could be forced to document their hatreds, required to produce support to underscore their contempt — then be fined for stupidity when they don’t. In my imagination they do. But we live in the real world, and in that real world we know the truth. And more and more others know it too.
You do realize this is an uphill battle right. First you have to convince 25% of the planet that it’s round and not flat, 38% don’t believe in global warming, 52% think there’s some old guy in a cloud controlling everything on the planet. Getting them to believe its more likely straight parents will raise a gay kid than gay parents… you may as well try to talk them into painting their genitals blue because it will keep them from getting cancer.
