Move in to CO-OP OF THE DAMNED… if you dare.

co-op of the damned

There’s a new horror/comedy web series, CO-OP OF THE DAMNED, winging it’s way to you, with the launch of its online presence series trailer and the premiere of its newly designed web portal (www.coopofthedamned.com). This announcement comes as the creative team gears up for the release of the first episode on Monday, October 4th, 2010. Three subsequent episodes will debut every Monday during the month of October.

CO-OP OF THE DAMNED marks the directorial debut for series creator Ned Ehrbar (HITLER VS. LINCOLN) who collaborated with entertainment executive Chad Steers (THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES). The pair filmed the episodes along with cinematographer, Rudy Valdez (BRICK CITY), and noted makeup artist and stunt coordinator Ian Marshal Hicks (THE GREEN HORNET).

Additional members of the ensemble include Liz Bohnsack (CONAN), Steve Cell (24), Jake Fleisher (INTERCOURSE WITH A VAMPIRE), Marcus Jones (THE SCENESTERS), Grace Para (JONAS LA) and newcomer Melissa Cueva.

”CO-OP OF THE DAMNED gives me a chance to explore two things dear to my heart: old horror movies and intensely awkward living situations,” explains Ned Ehrbar. “I also love the challenge of creating content specifically for the web, which gives people in my position that much more creative control and freedom.”

Including subject matter that will appeal to comedy and horror fans alike as well as both gay and straight audiences, CO-OP OF THE DAMNED promises to entertain and make you appreciate every roommate you’ve ever had.

CO-OP OF THE DAMNED is a web series about roommates from hell – literally! This new horror/comedy takes horror genre conventions and clichés and gives them their own living spaces with obnoxious “real world” roommates. Each episode explores a different apartment (complete with a different supernatural tenant) and the complex, dysfunctional relationship it has with its human counterpart.

A disembodied voice that has always told people to "get out" finally lets someone in; a machete-wielding maniac meets his match when one girl refuses to seal the deal; and a mischievous ghoul fueled by fear messes with the wrong stressed-out yuppie. And you thought your roommates were bad!

Created by Ned Ehrbar, a graduate of Columbia University’s creative writing program, Ehrbar is also the co-creator of the animated series HITLER VS. LINCOLN, which is currently in production. The series cinematographer is  Rudy Valdez, worked with critically acclaimed filmmakers Marc Levin (PROTOCOLS OF ZION, SLAM, MR. UNTOUCHABLE) and Mark Benjamin (BANGING IN LITTLE ROCK, THE LAST PARTY). The series is produced by Chad Steers, a noted  voice-over artist, and former creative at Miramax and Killer Films. He is currently developing various projects for both film and television under his independent label, Four Charlies.
