It Gets Better
Dan Savage wants us to save some lives.
With the latest news about a teen killing himself over homophobia, Savage and his boyfriend started the It Gets Better Project, a channel where those of us who made it out of the insanity of teen-hood can post words of encouragement to those still struggling to believe in the brighter future they have every right to be a part of.
I’m planning on doing mine sometime this week, with a special shout out to those gay kids who feel even more lost because they aren’t quite part of the musical / fashion / fabulousness of the most seen gay images out there in the world. I want to make sure that wherever and however you see yourself – be it in Lady GaGa or in GALAXY QUEST — that you belong and you deserve all of life’s riches.
