ULTRAMARINES are Here!

Ultramarines, HO!

Mentioned the other week here at doorQ.com, ULTRAMARINES: A WARHAMMER 40,000 MOVIE has finally been released. Based on the popular Games Workshop’s property, the film was written by author, Dan Abnett  (2000AD, Marvel Comics and DC Comics)  and features the voices of Terence Stamp (Superman 2, Valkyrie), John Hurt (Alien, Hellboy, V for Vendetta) and Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon, Dog Soldiers), as well as Steven Waddington (Last of the Mohicans, The Tudors), Donald Sumpter (Being Human) and Johnny Harris (This is England ’86).  The film has been produced by Codex Pictures.

In the film, Ultima Squad, a dispatch of Ultramarines, the genetically engineered servants and protectors of the Emperor of Man, answer a distress call for the remote planet of Mithron. Ultima Squad is a raw, untrained band of battle brothers, all recently promoted from the ranks of Space Marine Scouts and thirsting for glory. Mithron will be their first taste of action as fully fledged Ultramarines. Commander Severus, with his sergeant Crastor and his apothecary Pythol, knows they’ll need to keep a careful watch on the recruits.

On the tough and unforgiving surface of Mithron, Ultima Squad discovers that a terrible battle has taken place. The shrine has been attacked, and some great evil has been unleashed. As unseen dangers close in around them, the recruits have to mount a tense and deadly insertion to find any surviving Imperial Fists, and the reason behind the distress beacon. They soon discover that events on Mithron will threaten the fate of millions of densely populated Imperial worlds starting with their fortress home of Macragge…

There’s a special two disc special edition version of the film, available directly from the http://www.ultramarinesthemovie.com website.
