Oh Captain My Captain!

Remember when CAPTAIN AMERICA was called THE FIRST AVENGER?  Someone at Marvel.com sure does.  The stark image is free of comic book gloss or silliness, like say the THOR images. But now, take a look at Chris Evans in full Captain gear.

The synopsis for the flick is as follows: After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.

That pensive look and the single word poster makes me want to raise his chin and see if I can’t make him smile. But that’s just me wanting to help a hero any way I can. If the movie is as striking as the poster, this is going to be one hell of a movie.

Captain America: The First Avenger will be released to theaters on July 22, 2011. Check out the full poster below.

I don’t think its photoshopped. It’s the official Marvel poster for the movie. I assume it was done by someone in their art department. Photoshop would be cheating at a place that makes comic books.

I’m sure this is the official Marvel poster for the movie. I think what Horta is saying is this: They can make a still image, which has been corrected, run thru filters, had effects added, etc in Photoshop look as utterly cool as hell. Whether the movie will be any good, is another story entirely.
This is the costume, that is the droolable Chris Evans… however, any image a company uses for advertisement has been Photoshopped (or some other graphic manipulation software) to death to make it “better”. Its not even limited to movies, etc.. even simple ads showing a bottle of cologne, or a bottle of alcohol and a glass of ice have been manipulated to death.
