JUDAS KISS Coming To America

Wolfe Video has acquired the North American DVD and video-on-demand (VOD) rights for the time-bending campus drama, “Judas Kiss,” with release scheduled in Fall 2011.

The scifi-fantasy stars Richard Harmon of AMC’s new hit drama, “The Killing,” and Logo TV star Charlie David (“Dante’s Cove”), as well as adult film star Brent Corrigan (acting under his real name, Sean Paul Lockhart) and Belgian TV and pop star Timo Descamps.

San Jose, Calif.-based Wolfe Releasing is a premier distributor of GLBT films, and it will lead sales of “Judas Kiss” in the United States and Canada.

“Having the Wolfe logo on our film is a testament to its quality and entertainment value,” said the film’s director, J.T. Tepnapa.

Writer and producer Carlos Pedraza added, “Wolfe’s dedication and commitment to promoting and selling “Judas Kiss” was the deciding factor in our decision to sign with them.”

“Judas Kiss” tells the story of a washed-up filmmaker (David) who returns to his alma mater, where he gets the chance to reshape his destiny.

“Judas Kiss” is currently in its film festival exhibition run, and has already garnered high praise from critics. Examiner.com called it “an incredibly original independent feature film, extraordinarily well-made that completely transcends all genres, and features solid performances from really charismatic actors.”

Gay news site AfterElton.com found the story “intriguing, with the whole ‘letters to your 16-year-old self’ and ‘ghosts of Christmas past, present and future’ thing. Beautifully shot, the young actors really showed themselves as being talented performers. There’s substance here, and that’s hard to come by without tragedy.”

Scifi news site Airlock Alpha called the film a “fresh and fun approach to the same old time travel story, filled with characters you can’t quite get out of your head. It’s rare to see an independent film not only with such heart, but with this precision craftsmanship.”

“Judas Kiss” led the slate of movies just acquired by Wolfe Releasing. The other films included in this round of acquisitions are “Trigger,” “Mangus!”, “Leading Ladies” and “Suicide Room.”

For Worldwide distribution, “Judas Kiss” has also been acquired by Pro-Fun Media for distribution in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The film’s sales and distribution representative, Border2Border Entertainment, is negotiating with other distributors worldwide for the film’s release later this year. Inquiries can be made by contacting info@judaskissmovie.com.

“Judas Kiss” was produced by Blue Seraph Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company owned and operated by Pedraza and Tepnapa.

    mighty » I helped….. 😛

Seriously, thank you for your remarks. I’ll pass them on to C and JT. As nutty as the whole process has been — and that really means all of the administrative and organizing stuff that we don’t talk much about, because it’s a)boring and b)nutty — everyone is super pleased with the final products. I can tell you that we are already figuring out what we can do next 😀
