JUDAS KISS' Richard Harmon Wins Best Acting Award
By CARLOS PEDRAZA
Judas Kiss star Richard Harmon took home a Leo Award on Saturday for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Series, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.
The Leo Awards celebrate the artistic excellence in the film and television industry in British Columbia, where a large number of American movies and TV series are produced, creating a billion-dollar industry centered in Vancouver. In the meantime, local players, many trained on American projects, create smaller homegrown works also honored by the awards..
The show, produced in Vancouver, was the most nominated in the category, and won four of the five awards it was nominated for (the screenwriting nod went to the kids’ show, Tiga Talk!). The Haunting Hour airs on The Hub, a cable TV network for children.
Harmon’s other show, the Cartoon Network’s Tower Prep, was nominated for Best Direction. He plays a recurring role on the critically acclaimed series. He also appears in AMC’s new hit drama, The Killing.
Other Judas Kiss cast were nominated for a Leo:
- Genevieve Buechner for Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series, Caprica (“There is Another Sky”)
- Julian LeBlanc’s film, Sunday’s Child, for Best Makeup in a Short Drama (Catriona Armour)
