Hill’s ‘Locke and Key’ lands at Universal

Locke-and-Key

For Locke and Key, the popular graphic novel series by Joe Hill (The Heart-Shaped Box, Horns and N0S4A2) and his co-creator Gabriel Rodriguez, it’s road to being adapted for the screen has been a bit rough. FOX was intially interested in the property back in 2011, when Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci were to produce a potential series for the broadcast network. A pilot was filmed, but FOX eventually passed on the project, leaving its fate up in the air. Now Universal has acquired the project, with both Kurtzman and Orci attached as producers to bring the tales to the big screen. Locke and Key centers on three siblings who return to their family home in Massachusetts following their father’s murder, where they stumble upon magical keys that give them various powers and abilities. Below is the trailer FOX presented.
